Looking for a balance between antiquity and contemporaneity, the collection moves through material feelings evoking Greek tunics and drapes; Cady, silk, jersey: soft fabrics, which come to life on the body and then fall to the ground. Great attention is given to eco-sustainability, which translates into the use of certified vegetable and/or sustainable fabrics and converted post-consumer materials.
These fabrics and materials are contrasted with tivek and leather, bringing them back to different scenarios, particularly the street and subcultural movements. The item that represents the union of these imaginers is the biker jacket: totally built in leather, respecting its origin, it is brought back to the past with dusty colours, resonating of ancient influences, or in the construction: the biker is hybridised with a sartorial jacket, through the draping technique.
The constructive details of the garments are a tribute to classicism: inlaid pockets and ribs running around the garments and imitating almost the flutes of the columns. In the research, it became clear how, in ancient Greece, genders were diversified perhaps only from materials and drapery patterns, and the dress was a shared garment, present both in the male and female wardrobe. By translating to the present this in-difference - for the designers, the true definition of freedom - Edithmarcel decided to propose, in addition to the classic pieces of a genderless wardrobe, even of the genderless tunic.
The prints and symbols play with the austerity of classical architectures and sculptures, in a fresh way, but mindful of the value of history and the need to carry it in our daily life. The illustrations on t-shirts and other items also look directly at the contemporary graffiti, and move on the subtle border between vandalism and artistic expression. The brand logo, as an expression of creative identity that is being defined more and more, is embroidered on the gros-grain ribbon applied on garments and t-shirts, embroidered in sweatshirts or embedded in the prints.
